Life is like riding a swing....

Johanna Perdu

Life is like riding a swing, you hold to it tight and start moving, you go high and low, when you’re up you know you will get low and when you’re at your low you push harder to get up, and sometimes you need a push from someone to take you up.

You can be fully satisfied...

“I don’t think your hands are big enough…” (by Photos_by_DJ)

You can be fully satisfied with where you are, understanding that you’re eternally evolving. When you get into that place of feeling appreciation of where you are and of who you are, and appreciation of what you are, and you accept that you are a never-ending, always unfolding Being, then you can stand in that delicate balance of being optimistic about what is to come, without being unhappy about where you stand. Find a way of eagerly anticipating future changes, while at the same time you are in love and satisfied with who, what, where and how you be.

Imposing harsh judgments...

"Imposing harsh judgements on your body limits the range of experiences you allow yourself to enjoy. How many times has a wonderful day at the beach been tainted by your judgements about how you look in a bathing suit? Imagine how liberating it would be to happily walk across the warm sand without feeling self-conscious. Think of all the activities in your life that you have deferred until you look different, better, or perhaps even perfect.
There is much documented proof that the mind and body are connected, so acceptance of your body is not only essential for your emotional well-being, it is essential for your physical health as well. Denying your body complete acceptance can lead to illness, whereas practicing acceptance can heal disease. The drive for self-improvement is completely healthy as long as it comes from a place of self-love rather than a feeling of inadequacy." -Andrew Adler

Self-acceptance is...

“Self acceptance is being loving and happy with who you are NOW. Some call it self-esteem, others self-love, but whatever you call it, you’ll know when your accepting yourself cause it feels great. Its an agreement with yourself to appreciate, validate, accept and support who you are at this very moment, even those parts you’d like to eventually change. This is important…even those parts you’d eventually like to change. Yes, you can accept (be okay with) those parts of yourself you want to change some day.” - Jennifer Hautman

Kill herself?

This is something that I found on tumblr here.
it comes with a TRIGGER WARNING: FAT HATE; SELF-HARM; SUICIDE

Upon seeing this photo someone commented: "i’m so sorry but i’d kill myself if i’d be this big :(("

This is the response: "Hear that? Kill herself if she was as big as me. There are more important things to live and die for in this world. Being that this is a photo of me, as BIG AS I AM, with my scars that are from trying to kill myself , I find it a very interesting response.
Killing yourself isn’t painless, friends. Trust and believe it took 70+ sutures and staples, three weeks in the hospital, one reconstructive surgery, and a year of physical therapy to learn that. And it had Nothing to do with my size, if you know anything about me you know that I am not only content but happy with my appearance. I love my body with all of its imperfections, scars, and rolls. It holds my sentience, my conscious life, and that is what is important."

Reclaiming my fat...

Lick my Arthole by ~EvJones

"Fat is not a bad word. Someone who is fat is not necessarily unhealthy, they do not necessarily hate their bodies, and they certainly know suffering and pain. My body does not discount me as a human being, or as a woman. I am fat, and I stand up for fat humans everywhere; I am reclaiming my fat body, my identity."

Health messages...

at girl in the water by ~Smog88 @deviantart

"Some of the health messages we give create panic. We have to reassure young people that if they do have a weight problem, it doesn't mean that makes them a bad person. We need to encourage people to not just consider physical health, but emotional wellbeing as well." - Austin Hospital's medical director of mental health, Richard Newton

Let the fat fall where it may...

Hilda by Duane Bryers

"Though a heavy weight may be the result of imprudent lifestyle habits or underlying disease in some individuals, there are also many large people who eat sensibly, exercise regularly, and have excellent health readings--and many thin people who don't. Regardless, a low weight--or healthy lifestyle habits--shouldn't be a requisite for respect...

Let's switch our emphasis to encouraging health-promoting behaviors for all, and let the fat fall where it may. Everyone, fat and thin, can reduce their risk for health problems by making good lifestyle choices. It's time for a new peace movement: one that supports people in developing healthy lifestyle habits, regardless of their size. It's called Health at Every Size." - Dr. Linda Bacon (from Health at Every Size: The Surprising Truth About Your Weight)

(Dr. Bacon has multi-disciplinary training, including graduate degrees in physiology (specializing in nutrition), psychology, and exercise science. She is committed to educating people on the scientific evidence that underlies our understanding of weight.)
